But there are strict regulations governing which numbers you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re allowed to market to via text, and you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll also need to carefully tailor your campaigns to appeal to customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Respect the Law<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Text message marketing falls under both the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fcc.gov\/general\/telemarketing-and-robocalls\" target=\"_blank\">Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA)<\/a> and the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ftc.gov\/tips-advice\/business-center\/guidance\/can-spam-act-compliance-guide-business\" target=\"_blank\">Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing (CAN-SPAM) Act<\/a>. Customers won\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t bother reading lengthy texts and might opt out of future messages entirely. You\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve got about 160 characters in which to pique a customer\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s interest, get your message across, and close with a call to action. If you own a restaurant and you text out lunch specials to your subscriber base at 11:00 a.m. every weekday, you might get more business for lunch than you would otherwise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No matter what you communicate in your marketing text messages, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s always important to create value for the user. That\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s what will keep them subscribed to your marketing messages. The last thing you want is for them to get tired of your messages and opt out. So don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t send too many, and don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t send them at weird times a day.
