6 Ways To Combat Everyday Stress

Take two inhales through your nose, fill up those lungs, and then breathe out through your nose. Doing this twice can significantly lower your heart rate and tackle those stressful situations and surroundings. 

Listen To Music

Sometimes your music streamer knows what you are feeling and then matches your music choices, this is clever. If you don’t want to use streaming sites for your music then you can do things the old fashioned way. You can use MP3s instead, if your file is too big however, then you will also need a WAV compressor

Exercise 

You might not realise this but exercise is actually wonderful at combating your stress, it doesn’t even have to be for a long period of time. A simple ten minute walk can do wonders for you and your mind, relaxing you as you see all the pretty sites. If you have ever finished a workout and had a smile like the cheshire cat on your face then there is a good reason for this. Your happy hormones are working and making sure you feel good so you repeat the action. Exercise can be incredibly fun, relaxing, and good for you, it is just about finding what works for you. There is no point going for a run if you don’t like running. 

Eat The Right Foods

Did you know that certain foods can make you feel good, while others can wreak havoc with your stress levels? Not many people do know this, however, junk food has been linked to higher levels of stress than something like a salad. This is due to it putting far more pressure on your body, both while you are eating it and while it is busy being digested. Instead of relying on unhealthy, highly processed foods you could try making home-cooked meals. If you batch cook each week then you can grab and go out of your freezer. 

Delegate 

If you have your own business then this can be incredibly stressful at times, you need to learn to delegate. Delegating takes some of the pressure off you and reduces your work load every so slightly. However, you need to be confident that delegating those tasks and projects to other people won’t be met with more stress. If they don’t know what they are doing then things could quite easily fall behind. Be sure you have provided the right amount of knowledge and information that your employees will need. The last thing you want is for these shortcomings to have a negative impact on your business. 

Speak To Someone 

Finally, if you feel like you are losing control of your mental health then it may be time to speak to someone. You may be old school and not see the point of counselors and therapists, however, they can really make a difference. There are so many different types of therapy nowadays, you will need to research which one might suit you best. It can sometimes be a little game of trial and error, if art therapy doesn’t work then something else might. You will also need to find the right therapist for the job, be sure to check out reviews from previous clients before you decide. The last thing you want to be dealing with is a counselor or therapist hindering rather than helping.
